THI/SCI
Program
This program is intended to provide goods and/or
services in a flexible manner to eligible survivors of traumatic head and/or
spinal cord injuries in order to enable them to return to a reasonable level of
functioning and independent living in their communities.
Who is
Eligible?
- Individuals who are disabled by traumatic head and
spinal cord injuries. Person must be a resident of Louisiana and injury must
have occurred in the state of Louisiana.
Services Provided:
- Evaluations
- Post-acute medical care rehabilitation
- Therapy
- Medications
- Personal Care Attendant
- Equipment necessary for activities of daily living

Requirements:
- Must meet the definition of spinal cord injury or
traumatic brain injury as defined
- Must be a resident of Louisiana, citizen of the
United States , officially domiciled in the state of Louisiana at the time of
injury and during the provision services
- Must have exhausted all other governmental and
private sources
- Must have a reasonable expectation to achieve a
predictable level of outcome, to achieve improvement in quality of life, and/or
functional outcome
- Must provide proof of denial from other sources.
- Must be willing to accept services from an
advisory-board-approved facility/program
- Must be medically stable

This application process does not begin until a slot
is available.
