Resources for Independent Living provides lift-equipped wheelchair accessible transportation to persons with disabilities. The program is designed to assist these individuals in maintaining their independence by affording them efficient, reliable and safe access to the community for medical appointments, shopping, recreational activities, educational pursuits, employment opportunities, self-advocacy and other needs. In many instances, accessible transportation is the key to independent living.

Who is Eligible?

All current consumers of RIL are eligible and encouraged to participate in the program.

It is the goal of RIL to expand our transportation program in order to meet the special needs of disabled individuals, many of whom reside in areas where public transportation options are unavailable, insufficient or inappropriate. In the near future, Resources intends to expand our services to provide non-emergency medical transportation to those individuals in our service area who are not current consumers of RIL.
