Advocacy

A strong knowledge of personal rights is essential in today’s world. We encourage self-advocacy and assertiveness in our consumers by helping our consumers understand their rights in today’s society.

Self-Advocacy– Encouragement for consumers to be self-advocates by helping them understand their rights and techniques such as formulating letters, attending Mayor’s Advisory meetings, and joining advocacy groups are taught.

Systems– Assistance of addressing issues that affect persons with disabilities through marches, rallies, communicating with state representatives, and petitions.
